My parents have always told me to rather give than want and since then I have always been inspired by the quote, “We make a living by what we get. We make a life by what we give.” I believe that when one dies, people don't look back at what that person had, but what that person has done for others that created who that person was. I was always taught that giving will make you feel better than receiving, and the older I got the more I realized how true that statement was. I am active in my church in many different ways of giving back to the community. I have helped out with Habitat for Humanity, i have worked with the local Opportunity Center around my hometown, and I helped with creek clean-ups to keep the environment a sound place to live. I also helped out in a local soup kitchen and try to do any little thing whenever I can. Something insignificant to you may mean the world to someone else, so get out and create your life.
